Hello everyone! The first thing I'd like to share about myself is that I am so excited to be teaching Second Grade! I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in elementary school myself.
I attended college at SUNY Geneseo, where I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Childhood Education in 2010. After undergraduate school, I earned my Masters Degree in Childhood Literacy from SUNY Albany. I started my teaching at St. Ambrose as a substitute, teaching in Kindergarten while Mrs. Campito was out on maternity leave. The following year, I taught Pre-K 4 year olds. This is my third year in Second Grade! Last summer, I got married. I went from Miss Smith to Mrs. Mayo. We had a beautiful wedding in Saratoga Springs, with all of our family and friends. Then, we went on a wonderful honeymoon to the Greek Isles and Italy. We saw many of beautiful landscapes and ancient historical sites. It was a dream vacation! During my personal time, I love reading. I like wandering the public library and seeing what books jump out at me, but I love recommendations too, so let me know if you have any! I try spending as much time as possible with my family, especially "Skype-ing" with my 2 nieces and 3 nephews. Whenever possible during the summer, my husband and I love to go up to a family boat on Schroon Lake. My husband and I adopted a puppy, named Koopa, last year. We love taking him for walks and playing tug-of-war with him! Now that the summer is over, I am ready to get back to school. I look forward to learning more about each of you soon! |
